This year, for the first time, September 30th will be marked as a staturory holiday - the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

The Orange Shirt has become a powerful symbol that honours the children who went to residential schools, creates awareness, and encourages dialogue about the lasting impact of the Government funded programs.

This simple design is hand-drawn and combines elements of the Fort Smith Metis Nation's logo and a large handprint featuring the phrase, "EVERY CHILD MATTERS".
